Saw this sporterized 'smellie' over the weekend, belonged to a general who carried it during WW1 .303 (actually .311) should make powerful hog medicine. With its 'parsimonious' running costs, you could stock it in Texan Black Walnut.

Love the "smelly"...I had one years ago. Shot good and was surprisingly cheap to blast with back then.

The annoying thing about them is they are getting quite expensive here, particularly in the Jungle Carbine spec which I'd want, easily £300 whereas the one I shot in MA last year cost $100 and came with $100 worth of ammo. If I lived on your side of the pond I'd have one like a shot

Basic SMLEs still seem pretty cheap here, though the Jungle variant's kind of pricey.

No point in sporterizing a JC, that walnut is lovely, horn at both ends, flush sling and 'pod mounts, lots of very deep checkering, the rest TBC
