Birds Eye View

Peales tiercel wearing camera way up over Jackson Valley from Jason Jones on Vimeo.

I saw this on Tom Chandlers Trout Underground and thought you might like it too.
A Falconer has trained a Falcon to fly with a camera harnessed to it, AMAZING

Wow, very cool! I wonder: Is he looking back at the irritating thing on his shoulders, or is there a bigger predator overhead? Looks like the camera is where the tadio transmitter usually is, so I'm going to guess the latter.

It does look like he keeps wondering what the heck that thing is on his back. Very cool, still.

*sigh* I want to fly... alas, last time anyone I knew tried it they broke both their legs... oh to be 8 years old and fearless again. Though I do like both my legs (and other limbs) where they currently are, you know, attached and all.

Amazing video.

Steve Bodio's wife Libby here: I lived in Wilson (visible in the later part of the video) for years during the 70's and early 80's -- I'm astonished at how developed and built up it is...the hay pasture behind my house is a subdivision now.

The bird is obviously trying to figure out what the thing on her back is. (Female falcons are bigger than males and more likely candidates for backpack cameras).
