Now that's something you don't see every day!
Popped over to Shooter's place yesterday on the way to the shooting ground to
Once you step though the door of his unassuming suburban home you meet some evidence of his grandfathers hunting adventures. I don't know about you but I've never seen one of these before. Maybe I've led a sheltered life?
As ever lots of great tales were told, he introduced me to 'Lemon, Lime, and Bitters' [a most refreshing drink] and took me to the A1 Shooting Ground all in all a great afternoon. Thanks mate.

Very neat, and though sad, it still harkens back to an earlier time when we didn't know, and so still innocent to me.

I know an american hunter (and Hemingway fan) who has an 'Africa room' bursting at the seams with stuffed heads, but its very rare here to meet anyone with more than one 'ironic' piece, let alone a Tiger AND a Leopard. I'm not really a taxidermy kind of guy myself, theres a hell of lot of skill to it, i've just never felt the need for it myself. Skulls, now that's something quite different.
Shooter is pretty busy with work for the next few weeks but after that I'm going to force him to write up some tales of his granddad and post some pix too. - feel free to nag him on his blog :-)
