A tubby suburban dad watching hunting and adventure shows on TV and wondering could I do that? This is the chronicle of my adventures as I learn to learn to Forage, Hunt and Fish for food that has lived as I would wish to myself - Wild and Free.
Please feel free to leave comments. I really enjoy hearing what readers think. The rules are the same as round my dinner table:
You're welcome to disagree, life would be way too boring if we all agreed with each other and we'd never learn anything.
I like to think that we're all grown up enough to argue every last point, right down to the bone, without bearing a grudge afterwards.
Come on in the waters lovely

Wow. That is really, really depressing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bloody mess we've made in the past century.

ReplyDeleteI was watching the film 'the end of suburbia' the film makers framed the issue 'we had enough oil to last for 2,000 years, this is how we squandered it in a hundred'.
meanwhile we fine people for putting the wrong rubbish out on the wrong day or in the wrong bin, while doing nothing to address the madness of our modern world.

Yeah. For the most part, we don't seem to ask "How will this affect the world our grand-children's grand-children will inhabit?" but rather "How will this affect this fiscal quarter?" Then we're shocked and dismayed by the impacts a generation or two down the line. Duh.

ReplyDeleteSome days i just feel dispair, the solutions to most of our problems are known but not disseminated, and we continue to reward the people who are making things worse.
Our elected representatives have abandoned the concept of public service and are merely in the business of getting elected, so have no stomach for the tough questions. Wise men are mocked and idiots celebrated. Modern Life Still Rubbish.

Everyone!
ReplyDeleteDepressing? Yes! But there is something we can all do. Remember that post I did on cleaning up, I always carry a shopping bag I my pocket when I go out? Y'all remember that one?
Well that is all it will take if each and everyone of us do that one small thing. I even do it here in A'stan.
Just pick one thing to do, one thing! and do it all the time, it will make a difference!

I'm too young to feel cynical yet Uncle Sten, but it is sad; I like birdies.
