I've had several of Charlie May's knives. Pricey, but every bit as good as they look. I eventually settled on the Bladie Mae as my main hunter.

ReplyDeleteI've been a fan for a while, he seems to have some rep over here, but US knifemakers also have a reputation for not wanting to ship 'overseas' so few people have laid hands on them.
His knives only seem expensive until you compare them to what else is available. People do pay the same sort of money for knives that you or I could make at home. Madness.
Did you have a look at Stuart Mitchell's work?
His websites is sadly far from representative of his output - do a search on British Blades.
