Weekend Reading

Have a look at this fascinating article about how a community decides which innovations are likely to help and which are likely to hinder. Very cool and well written too.
Enjoy

  2. Cool story, and it jibes with my father's dealings with the Amish community in NW Montana.
He's a retired welder, lives in Libby, Montana. For a number of years he worked with an Amish community in Libby that builds and sells custom log homes.
My dad did a lot of their welding, metal fab, mechanical work etc. and a lot of the stories he told me about dealing with the Amish sound remarkably similar to the anecdotes in the story.

    Pragmatic bunch, those Amish.

Please feel free to leave comments. I really enjoy hearing what readers think. The rules are the same as round my dinner table:

You're welcome to disagree, life would be way too boring if we all agreed with each other and we'd never learn anything.
I like to think that we're all grown up enough to argue every last point, right down to the bone, without bearing a grudge afterwards.

Come on in the waters lovely
